HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG GIZI DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING PADA ANAK USIA 24-59 BULAN DI POSYANDU WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PAKEM

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHERS' KNOWLEDGE OF NUTRITION AND THE INCIDENCE OF STUNTING IN CHILDREN AGED 24-59 MONTHS AT THE POSYANDU IN THE WORKING AREA OF THE PAKEM PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER

Abstrak

Toddler is a group prone to nutrition problems, one of which is stunting. Stunting is
one of the poor nutrition which is characterized by height indicators according to age
under - 2 SD (Standard Deviation). The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2018
is 30.8%, while in Yogyakarta it is 22%. One factor that causes stunting is the mother's
parenting style towards her toddler. Mother parenting is related to the mother's
education level and mother's knowledge about nutrition. So it is necessary to know
the relationship between mother's knowledge about nutrition and the incidence of
stunting in children under five in the Posyandu at the Puskesmas Pakem. This study
aim to find out the relationship between mother's knowledge about nutrition with
the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-59 months in the working area of the
Puskesmas Pakem. This study was an observational analytic study with a cross
sectional approach. The study used 55 samples of toddlers with mothers. In this
study, an assessment of the mother's knowledge about nutrition was carried out
using questionnaires and using measurements of children's height. The relationship
between mother's knowledge about nutrition and the incidence of stunting in
infants aged 24-59 months who were in the Posyandu at the working area of the
Puskesmas Pakem with a statistical program obtained p = 0.288 with a prevalence
ratio of 1.611. There is no significant relationship between mother's knowledge
about nutrition with the incidence of stunting in children aged 24-59 months who
are in the Posyandu in the work area of Puskesmas Pakem.
