Abstract

Colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) is a common gastrointestinal malignancy originating from the glandular epithelial cells of the colon. The loss of clear boundaries in the tissue confirms the malignant nature and local spread of the tumor. Literature review indicates that the aggressiveness of this tumor  is driven by the hyperactivity of cell  cycle regulatory genes (CDCA) and the adaptation of cancer cells in evading programmed cell death mechanisms, atypical invasion and rare histological variant such as hepatoid carcinoma and signet-ring cell carvinoma. A comprehensive understanding of organ morphology and molecular mechanisms is crucial for accurately recognizing the aggressiveness of colon carcinoma.
